Anna escaped from a brutal life. She'd been given a chance at the cost of her last family member. Her gran left her a home. Now all she needed was a job. Warming up after her long bus ride put her in a pub to get the hot drink and ended up with a job. And more.
Ryan was tending bar on the slow night she walked in and captured his attention. He was a one-night-stand kind of guy. His experience of relationships taints his confidence in finding a future for himself.
Their beginning became more. He made her feel safe but resisted anything longterm. When trouble finds her maybe his thinking will change.
I enjoyed the story and their love and friends from the previous story in the series. However, after being in a controlling abusive relationship I would think she would be more resistant to quickly fall again.
