Solitude and motor oil meets soul food and wariness
I’m a grease-stained enigma. A watcher, a protector, an ex-con, and a mechanic. My name is Brick. I’m old enough to know good things come to those who wait, and hungry enough to go after what I want. I am a proud independent.
A nurturer, a cook, a casualty, and a grandparent. My name is Lisa. I’m cautious enough to keep my distance, and too wise to let a chance at love pass me by. We seem unmatched—in race, in history, in lifestyle—but when tragedy leaves a baby in our care and a target on our backs, we discover the strength of family.
Unified.

I loved Lisa and Bricks together, when they finally give into their attraction they make it work. They both have to go through a lot especially when tragedy strikes. With the help of the club they manage to find love with each other.
I can't wait for more.
I absolutely loved this story! What a great couple. They aren't kids, they have lived hard lives, take responsibility seriously, and don't rush into anything. But once they decide they go all the way!
He runs the repair shop for the MC Club and she takes care of the club, cooks makes sure it is clean, and the laundry done. The club has given him a home and family with a chance to help kids keep out of trouble and learn a trade. The club gave her a home figuratively and physically for her and her two grandchildren she cares for.
It's taken a couple of years but when his grandchild becomes his responsibility, Lisa is there to help and teach him how. That sweet little boy, and the two older kids, help bring them all together as a family.
Nothing is easy, trouble shows up, and the club as well as connections with the law all work with the family to protect them and bring them to justice. The question is will they succeed?
The characters are wonderful, some new to the series, some old friends for those who have read other stories. There is never a dull moment. The grandkids have been raised well even though they are kids and act out they are fun to read about. Just an overall great story. It is good to see these over forty characters find love and there is plenty of steam left in them.
