This was hands down a BEST BOOK OF 2016 for me! It was a total 5 star read that I will recommend to anyone who loves a great "friends to lovers", "older brother's best friend" or "sports" romance. - J. Hodges
I loved how the author incorporated hockey and music together.. how she gave us a play by play of the games or the music process and how impeccable she was with both subjects.. and that ending I was just seriously blown away! - Logan Hr
This is a book that is so good you have to keep going, and you will find yourself completely consumed with Brantley. OH he’s so dreamy and swoon worthy. B stole my heart and I am asking him to never return it. ~ Nikki for Saints and Sinners Book Blog
I’m a huge fan of Rhonda James, that’s no secret at all. She gives everything into each of her books and you can feel it come out of her characters and stories. I love each and everyone of her books, but I will say that this book is my absolute favorite of hers to date!! - Alpha Book Club
This story is a slow paced hot story.
We meet Cassie, who moves to another college to be nearer her brother Scotty after ending a relationship for two years. She moved to be closer to Scotty so they can rekindle their friendship. But it doesn't go so well when he spends all his time either in classes, hockey or with his girlfriend Ashley. She finds friendship in Brantley, who she met the day she moved to the new college. She has always liked him.
We meet Brantley, who doesn't believe in relationships or love after having his heart broken. He is a hockey player, and plays with Cassie's brother. His world gets turned upside down when he wakes to Cassie in his bed, and finds out it's his best friends little sister. He tries to avoid Cassie because of the bro code with Scotty. They form a friendship when he comes to her rescue over the story.
Will Brantley ever believe in relationships and love again? Will Cassie ever rekindle her friendship with her brother? Will Cassie break down Brantley's walls?
This story is slow in pace towards relationships. But you can't help but love the characters, and want it all to end happy. You can't help but feel for Cassie after everything she goes through. I rooted for Cassie and Brantley from the beginning.
