I wish I could say I have read all of Bethany-Kris’ work, but I cannot. I can say that I have been a fan since the first book of hers that I did read. Breathless and Bloodstained is the eighth book I’ve read of hers and none have been a disappointment. This last book in the Chicago War series was a wonderful end to the bloody mess that began in Deathless & Divided. Oh the schemes, lies and deceit we have uncovered!
This book is about Tommas Rossi and Abriella Trentini, yet another couple who should not have been playing around. That was a theme through most of this series, except for the first, I think that was my favorite. Anyway, I like these two in the bedroom, they’ve got a dirtiness to them if you know what I mean ;). The wrap up of the series was more or less what I expected but not how I expected to get there, so some twists. Bethany-Kris is true artist, weaving all four books into this last one to conclude the series. If you have been following the Chicago War series, I don’t think you will be disappointed in how it all comes together. It is sad to see this group of characters come to the end of their story, but I have faith that they will reappear in one of the next series. I look forward to reading more by this author. I give this book 4 stars with 3.5 hand down the pants.
