The Edge of Us is my first book by Veronica Larsen and what a first book to start with! From the very first word the story of Mila, Andrew and Cole was compelling, raw and emotive, playing on my heartstrings until the very last word.
Mila Zelenko was left devastated on what should have been the happiest day of her life. Instead she feels abandoned and humiliated by the man she loves. Consumed with anger and hatred she closes off her heart and throws herself into her work.
8 years on in the midst of receiving a prestigious award she comes face to face with her past and with it feelings she thought she had long since buried.
I was completely swept away in the authors writing style. Each word is wrote from the heart, with conviction. Every word clear and concise and wrote with purpose. I normally stay away from "love triangles" but the story/writing felt so real, so honest I was totally enthralled with the characters and their roller coaster of emotions. I felt them all. They were so cleverly and intricately woven that I felt their souls were laid bare. I felt it was so much more than a story it really resonated with me.
I can't recommend it enough!
About the Author:
Veronica Larsen began writing around the age of seven, scribbling Nancy Drew-like stories between the margins of composition notebooks. Her journey into the romance genre began once upon a long military deployment when she penned a steamy romance for her husband, a US Marine. This story eventually turned into her debut novel Entangle. She fell in love with writing romance and hasn't looked back since. Her novels are known to feature engaging story-lines, relatable characters that tap into heart-tugging truths, and a tangible chemistry that builds throughout the story. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Psychology, which has come in handy in resolving the messy lives of the fictional people in her head.
